Re: Johnson stutter problem at high 2700 RPM
Well, Ray and I launched our boat this weekend for the first time since last October. The last time we used it we didn't experience the overtemp problem and we thought it might have been because the water was about 50 degrees and was therefore cooling the engine enough to avoid the problem.
Today however the water temp was 80 degrees and the problem still didn't occur. The problem used to occur after the motor had been run at trolling speed for half an hour. Today we varied between full throttle and trolling speed and the motor worked flawlessly. So we're kind of confused as to what might have happened but I think it might have been a partial clog somewhere in the cooling system that was cleared by running the motor.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to post advice. We really appreciate it.
