i ordered a type 400 conection kit and the piece that goes in the shifter dosent resemble this. anybody know where i can get one? this in on a 59 johnson 25hp

That "Casing Guide" is part number 308034 and appears to still be available thru any dealership.

The center "Insert" is part number 304085 and is listed now as vintage, however I suspect it's still available at various dealerships.
