Howdy, Pocketee.

Welcome to iboats. :)

Your li'l Johnny is a 1960.

You can get an aftermarket manual here: http://www.boatmotors.com/manuals.html

Or a reprint of the OEM manual here: www.kencook.com

It uses Champion J4C spark plugs, gapped at .030".
Set the magneto points at .020"

Fuel mix is 24:1, Unleaded regular petrol and TC-W3 outboard oil.

Good luck. That is a sweet little engine. :)

Hope the motor runs,or you can get it to that state. Those older twins run SO much better than what's out there today. Now all you can get are single cylinder small motors, and it 'just ain't the same'.Unless you like vibration.GRIN

DHP

I agree with the above: Great engine!
My books list the Champion J6C as the spark plug, but use whichever works best for you. The J6C is a little hotter and if you find the engine tends to foul plugs use it.
Excellent 3hp tuneup article.

pocketee,

DON"T BELIEVE THESE GUYS !!!

That motor is over 44 years old, it's junk, not worth fixing ! Don't waste your time or money...

Post your email address and I'll send you my address . I'll pay all shipping and packaging costs up front, just send it to me.

Just kidding of course...keep the old one's...those 'older' twins are classics and a delight to work on.
