johnson motor starting in gear

i have a 2000 bass tracker with a 1994 johnson 48 hp i just notice the other day that it will start in any gear position has anyone ever experienced this before this is a console shift not a tiller i would appreciate any help

The neutral safety switch is normally under the hood of the outboard. Look and test if the switch is going bad.
