I'm new to this forum, so please bare with me. I have a 50 hp johnson with a broken lower unit. It is model number J50PLSIB. I've found two possible replacenments on ebay and I need to know if either one would be compatable with my motor. The first one is model number J50TLERE and the second one is HE55WMLC. The last one is a commercial lower unit from a 55 hp motor. What is the secret in deciphering the letters in the model number?
