I am looking through some parts here for converting a Johnson J25TEETS to remotes. It looks like the J25TEETC model has the remote controls. Looking at the parts list (http://www.**********/parts/search/BR...ETC/parts.html) for the J25TEETC it looks like the steering link kit is part number 173699 (http://www.**********/parts/search/BR...KIT/parts.html).

Am I correct that the steering link arm connects to part number 13 in the midsection? http://www.**********/parts/search/BR...ION/parts.html

My last question is on the tilt tube. Is there any way to verify if a steering system is able to mount to this style/size tilt tube? Or am I going to need a transom bracket? I suppose if I go the transom bracket route I would not need the steering link above? This might be a dumb question because I see that same part is used on bigger motors up to 50hp too. Thoughts?

Edit - apparently links to boats dot net don't work. Not sure how else to link to them?

Here is one of the better (although, still not descriptive of the front controls side of the motor) pictures I have. It does show the tilt tube on the steer side though.

Here is one I found that is similar. It appears to show the steering link hooked to the part 13 I mentioned above, and also has the tilt tube mount for the steering cable/system.

Are there any special attaching parts I need for the cable to mount to the tilt tube? Or will what comes in a kit mount right up to it?
