Johnson - identify year from serial num only?

I have a Johnson 85 hp from the late 60s. I only have the serial number, and am hoping to identify what year the motor is from that alone. The serial number is C4259. From what I know, this is either a 1968, 1969, or 1970 motor. I need to replace the power pack, and want to get the right one (1968 is different from the others).<br /><br />Thanks for any assistance.<br />Don

See if there are any numbers or letters stamped on the round freeze plug on the block. If there post back here.
