Can anybody help me id this motor by its cowling or motor pics? No model number anywhere. Only a serial number on the freeze plug.

Re: Johnson identification

Just had my eyes worked on and can't distinguish colors very well---is that dark green paint on the powerhead? I'd place it as a late 1960's Johnson 6hp. Better not tell us the serial number. It couldn't say "Stolen Motor" any plainer if it was painted on the side. That's why they hid it under that funky paint job after removing the data tag.

Re: Johnson identification

As far as parts go, is there a range of years where parts would be the same? What would be a good model to look up to get parts for this motor?

That serial number would be a 1968 or 1969. Pretty much the same anyway.
