I have a 2000 Johnson 90 HP 4 Cylinder that I would like to disconnect the auto oiler and mix my own. Can someone tell me how to do this or where to look on the net to find this info? Thanks so much, Kurt

Re: Johnson 90 HP Oil Injector Disconnect????????

Remove oil inlet hose from VRO pump and cap off nipple securely.Trace the two wires(level alarm) from the remote oil reservoir to the engine compartment and unplug the connectors and secure both ends.Trace the four wire harness from the vro pump to the black amphenol connector and unplug. This will disable the VRO alarms.Mix 50:1 in fuel tank and with the fuel inlet line disconnected from the VRO pump ,squeeze the primer bulb until the premix has reached the pump inlet. You'll want to route this flow into a clear container so that you can tell when the premix is flowing.Reconnect fuel inlet hose.To insure that the engine overheat alarm is still operational locate the tan wire from the temp sensor on the upper engine block and with the key in the "on" position ground this wire to the engine block by peeling back the wire cover or using a test lead.Alarm should sound. You can also remove the remote oil reservoir from boat if you wish. That's it.The fuel half of the VRO pump will work fine as a 50:1 pumper.
