I've got a problem with my outboard. It seems as if the motor misses at low speeds and idle. I've issolated it to one of the cylinders by removing one spark plug wire at a time. I've replaced the points and condensers also the spark plugs and spark plug wires look good. The carburator is clean and the fuel is good.

Thanks for the help

That motor should idle at 600 RPM in foreward gear with no trouble. It sounds as if the points are off alittle or a coil or wire could be braking down. I would recheck the points first as they can be realy touchy.

What's the compression on it ?? Will the spark jump a 1/4 " open air gap on a tester ??

You cannot tell the condition of plug wire by looking at them. I Would physically test them, or if they are original just replace them.
