we set of up the river crusing along then we opened her up and she was fine on comin back down the river we opened her up again and she just dint wanna know it was like it was dying, we could only keep it at half throttle to keep her running.

then on arrving back at the mooring to moor her up we put her into a stern and she shot forward instead but it was definately ut into a stern can anyone help me out we left the boat in york for a engineer to look at her at ?35 per hour but we said for them to only do a couple of hours to start out with any ideas anyone on what it could be cheers

On the forward / reverse issue, I have no idea.

On the engine trouble, three possibilities: compression, spark and fuel. Compression & spark can be tested and diagnosed in minutes. Fuel is the most common -- most likely scenario, your mechanic will rebuild your carburetors. Around here, it'd be $300-$350, (?450 - ?500), or do-it-yourself for around ?75.
