JOHNSON 4HP where does the grease go in

Ive just been given a 4hp motor has not been used for 18 years the grease on the the leg swivels has gone solid I can only find one grease nipple on the top swivel do I have to strip it down to regrease it thanks to all you guys who are going to advise me

There may be only one grease fitting on your motor. No need to tear anything apart. Personally, I like a motor that turns a bit stiff. You'll never wear it out so don't worry about greasing everything.

You may have to dismantle to clean out the old grease. If it's an early '70's model, it's easy to do. Go here w/your model number and find the schematic: Johnson Evinrude Outboard Motor Parts by Year 1955 to 2011
