johnson 33 HP Waterpump exit?????

I have a 62-71 johnson 33 HP, I'm not sure if my water pump is broke or not. My question is, where does the water pump exit the water on the motor????

Should be a healthy spray out of the large hole about half way down to the waterline, rear of midsection. But most of it goes out with the underwater exhaust.
