Johnson 3 horse i know nothing about

I have a 3 horse johnson a friend pulled off a wreck that i'm trying to work on

Model # JW23 A
Serial # E2876177

i'd appreciate whatever info you can give me, but the oil mixture is what i need the most

JW23 is a 1968 3 HP.

I don't know the mix for 1968; I have a 1958 and it may be different.

Fuel mix is 50:1, stang. One pint TC-W3 outboard oil per 6 gal, 87 octane.

What you really need most is a Service Manual (OEM). http://www.iboats.com/mall/?category_id=251023&view_id=251023

carefull on the fuel mix I have a 61 3hp and it's 1/3 pint to 1 gal

It what JB says. It's always what JB says!

In fact all post 1964 are 50:1 including those sold in the mid 80's labelled 100:1.

Earlier models used more oil see Chinewalker's article in the engine FAQs :
