I have never owned one, but have heard the stories of new powerheads (200 and 2001) melting down. It was biggest reason OMC applied for Chapter 11.<br />If it were my engine, I would leave that oiler unhooked, and mix my own fuel...No chance of meltdown due to no oil that way.<br />OMC have allways been good motors. You have yer lemons with all makes and models,and OMC is no different. But a good rule of thumb (learned by every freshman engineering student), "Keep it simple,stupid" is priceless advice to any manufacturer. Unfortunately, sometimes the government , or bean counters interfere.
