I replaced both coils, now I have spark on the top cyl but not on the bottom. I checked everthing, still no spark. Any ideas?

Got some new plug wires, old ones look good. Just might be the cause of the dead cyl. I'll put them on tomorrow.

I knew if I stuck with it long enough I'd get running full tilt. Turns out I had a bad set of new points for the bottom cyl. BTW, the coils and points for the '61 Evinrude 40hp are the same ones that fit my '69 Johnson 20hp. Got everything at NAPA.

Strange but true. I bought new points and could never get the bottom cyl to fire, after about 3 hours of trouble shooting I ran a piece of 1000 grit through the points and she started running on both holes. This thing was driving me nuts.

Now I need a boat!
