I have a 1994 Johnson 120 HP outboard engine on my stratos and I have been experiencing trouble with power from the engine and was wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions. The issue that I have is my clubs championship is this Sat. and Sun. so time is limited and I am probably in too deep to fix it this quick but I figured I would throw out the situation and cross my fingers on getting suggestions.

When I try to take off the boat doesnt have enough power to even plane out. I cant get the boat to all of a sudden go over like 5 miles an hour. It sounds like it isnt firing on all the cyclinders. I replaced all the plugs and checked them, they are all firing fine. The power pack was just replaced before the fishing season this winter.

The thing I have noticed is the top two cyclinders plugs are really dirty looking after I turn the engine on (brand new plugs, put them in this morning) and the bottom two look new like.

Also when I orginally took off the plugs to replace them I noticed that the top two plugs had alot of carbon caking on them. More than I have ever seen.

If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or possible things to check it would be grealty apprecaited. Its going to be real tough to get this in and fixed anywhere around here before Friday. If i could get a few ideas where to start from it might help.

Thanks
