Johnson 110 no power

IU recently bought a 1989 Seaswirl 19' bowrider wiht a 110 Johnson. It takes about 3-4 minutes to get up on plane and the tach isn't working so I can't tell what RPM at WOT is. Tach is my second problem, it is stuck on 3000 RPM, wires were disconnected. Where do I connect the wires?<br />I borrowed a spark tester and will be checking that tonight if it stops raining. I am alos going to take a look at the prop and see what ptich it is. what else am I forgetting?<br />later<br />Throbbin Rods

Compression test should be high on the list. What plugs are you using and what do they look like?
