Re: jet pump

If they had jet pumps, that would explain the boat I drive by that's for sale up here in Pelham, NH... I'll stop and get more info.

There's also a '75 Islander For Sale in Maine, not to far from me.

Re: jet pump

Brief talk to ownrer He said the boat was origionally in Lewiston Idaho on the Snake River with a guide. ???? Did, and do not think the Starcraft had that solid of a hull and certianly not flat bottom enough for rocky river running. Must have stayed down river mostly for Steelhead fishing. This was difinatly a factory install and neat as a pin. Looked like a Berkly Pump. Neat to see one here on the west coast in use.

Re: jet pump

Well I can say this I do know that from some brochure stuff I read that Starcraft did make a fiberglass model with factory jet but haven't found anything to show they did for Aluminum models. But I can tell you that I was looking at a 22' aluminum hull Starcraft in Idaho a while back that was a jet, but it was done by a company locally there named ELIMINATOR JET which is no longer in business. It was done very professionally. But not by STARCRAFT I have also found a couple more since that one. Also there is a guy on here that has one or was buying one. Here's the link to the one on here with pics.
http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=353469 Here is one on CL I found.
http://pullman.craigslist.org/boa/1360291852.html There is another I found on CL but didnt save the link to it it was rather rough looking and don't feel like re looking it up. I think it was like in the Midwest or northeast somewhere.

Re: jet pump

The jet I looked at was a inboard ,no indication of a add on. Im sure it was factory or a darn good makeover. It was absolutly as you would see from a production Boat. I did not ask what H/P the inboard was and the pump was all the same color as the hull. Same color as my Holiday. I eager to run the owner and ask to really look over his boat,if I can find him. Jim C what in the world were you in Idaho doing. We used to live in Nampa Idaho and then Pullman Wa right on the Idaho border and have a summer home in the area of Sandpoint Idaho. I am real familar with jet boats esp. on the Snake river. My brother in law is hatchery supervisor for the Idaho Fish and Wildlife game dept.He lives in Boise..

Re: jet pump

Thinking about Jet Pumps on Starcrafts. I know some builders sold bare boats. W/O any power so they could have someone decide what power they choose, as there were far less places to have this done in the early 60s or 70s. This may be why many of them look different , the first post was of a very bad looking jet instilation and the three I have seen in the last few days were ,what looks like origional equipment. Regardless of who installed the Power to the boat. This is IMHO what is likley how these came about.
