Cut a deal and apparently is going to be a "tour guide" to congressional corruption!

Does it get any sleezier than this? Maybe they'll get to lead the entire repub congressional delegation in a single file perp walk!

That's moral values on display!!!

Re: Jack Abramoff

It has been reported that a number of our saintly elected officials have been making sizable donations to various causes, how convient, would that amount to flushing the evidence down the toilet?

Reps and Dems are both going to be implicated. Corruption is an Equal Opportunity issue. ;)

I agree, the crime here is bribery and skullduggery on a scale that has never been more blatant, the majority of recipients of bribery and "special favors" so far appears to be from the GOP, i'm quite sure that a few Dems will also be implicated before the dust settles.
If this is not a serious threat to our system of Govt', i don't know what is.

Aint that the truth. Power corrupts.

PW.. I guess you forgot all about the last ten years. Just for starters, how about the House Bank Scandal. I'll combine a list for ya if you like.

Be very careful here what you wish for... you just might get it! Harry Reid was spinning faster than a toy top on this issue.

While I harbor no illusions that dems are completely innocent, why would you want to bribe dems when the repubs have all the control?

But heck, if Harry Reid is involved somehow, I say string him up as well. He isn't doing the dems any favors, anyway.

As PW2 suggests, it is usually futile to try to corrupt the "out of power" legislators.

Look to the past and the future and you will find corruption in the party that reigns.

Hang 'em all! Any of them "public servants" that bilk the public for personal gain ain't worth a grain of salt. I do not care if it is for political reasons that a witch hunt is being done, I do not care if it is repubs or dems that are caught, I don't care if it is the President, or a local official - if they took money, or trips, or anything for personal gain to influence the outcome of a vote, then they should be drawn and quartered!

Why is it that politicians are so slimy? Is it because most of them started out as lawyers?

Hopefully this will get some serious steam behind campaign reform.

There's a poll this week on the CNN politics website which stated that 49% of respondents believed that "most members of Congress are corrupt".

I really hope the nation as a whole takes itself to task and vote out the existing band of cronies in both the house and senate and replace with a new set who has the countries best interest first instead of their own personal agendas.

Nav

If this does lead to a flushing, I hope they have the kahunas to convict and strip all the retirement benefits and perks that legislators receive. Jail time is nice, expecially when you get out to a nice fat pension, full healthcare, and a plethora of perks you or I will never see. Part of their convictions should be a forfeiture of all proceeds both current and future resulting from their time spent in office including movie rights, book deals, and speaking tours.
Lets see mister congress man run a register at Walmart for a living. That will teach them.

Nav

Ts, what I mean to say is this: If they started sending some of these scoundrels to Leavenworth instead of the "country clubs", for their transgressions, it might just make them think twice before taking the plunge! ;) :) .....JK
