Im generally very mechanically inclined, however, the carb is still a bit of an issue to me. I have just puchased a boat with mentioned motor and boy did i get ripped off... first boat and it fired and ran and went into gears but it was tore up something fierce. First off, all the linkage was out of wack causing it to race. once i figured that out i got it idling right and took it out and nothing! Basically running on 2 cyl. Then found out i had a carb that had a bad gasket and fuel was just bypassing the needle assembly and pouring into the cylinder. I managed to fix that and today i took it out and now have power to get up and plain but it seemed slow. so i messed with it a little and found that if i bump the electric choke its like turning on the afterburner! instant power burst. can maintain it by constantly bumping it too. however i know this 'power burst' is my true WOT. is this merely and adjustment issue? or do i have more problems here?
