Problems with 60hp Johnson on a 28ft pontoon boat. A few weeks ago I was out on the water and the motor idled well, did well in WOT, but when it was slowed down would stall and die and would be hard to start back up. So I did what was easiest, check compression: 120 on each, checked my fuel lines for leaks, rebuilt fuel pump...still the same problem. Convinced it was my carbs by reading other posts, I rebuilt the carbs. Took it out and it is better, but still seems to have the same tendency to stall, but I can get it started if I wait a few minutes and I'm not "limping" back to the dock. What you say? I can post more history if you need it.

sound like you idle speed stop screw needs to be turn clockwise to increase idle speed, a little. idle should be around 650 IN GEAR, IN THE WATER.
