J2863338 Johnson 55 hp questions

Can anyone tell me what year motor this is? Also, I am not getting any fire to the motor. I don't know outboards. I am helping a friend. Where do I need to start...points, plugs, wiring?<br /><br />Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can't help with the year but when you find out you need the manual, the manual, and the manual.

Cody....get the model number and post it here. We can tell ya' the year and possibly some things to look at to help cure the problem.
