It's gettin' there... And a question about primer

Hi all,<br /><br />FINALLY, the weather is good enough to start in on the boat. I gutted her (Starcraft Runabout) and I'm in the process of priming/painting trim, rebuilding seats, etc.<br /><br />Question on the Zinc Chromate primer: This stuff is T-H-I-C-K. Can it be thinned just a tad, with some brushing thinner? I'm using Petit's 6455 primer. I have the boat right down to bare aluminum, and want to get everything as smooth as possible. Should I also go with the 6149 Undercoater?<br /><br />Last, I need to thank everyone in here again for their help. The knowledge and experience in here is invaluable. I've taken the word "meticulous" to a whole new level with this boat. If it even LOOKS like it'll go bad in the next 10 years, out it comes...<br /><br />Rick K
