I was in my favorite tackle shop yesterday talking trash with the guys and drinking their coffee and then it hit me..I couldn't shake it.. I thought I could but, I blacked out infront of the display case.

I came to standing at the door of my truck balancing 4 reel boxes, a mug of coffee, a box of rods and something that appeared to be a small paper bag full of candy critters...

Not sickness at all, Barlow. It's therapy.

Herbert Hoover said, "The Lord does not deduct, from man's alloted time, those hours spent in fishing."

Because he was given to brief statements, he didn't mention, but did mean, the hours spent in thinking and talking about fishing or the hours spent getting ready to go fishing (which, of course, includes selection of equipment) as well.

It isn't scripture, but it oughta be. :)

I know what you mean about the sickness. I like those candy critters too. Could be blood sugar problems. You might want to have that tested.

Now all you need is some nice weather to use your new gear.
I notice "Wisconsin"... a bit cold this time of year.
Last time I went out was 2-3 weeks ago here in Indiana, I haven't went without fishing at least 1 day a week since April.
I'm freaking out.
Almost to the point of considering "ice fishing" (although I doubt it will happen :p )

I don't know I always ask this, but I'm gonna....
How much did you pay for all of that?
Are you out of the doghouse yet? Or did you just install a computer in it to save time?

Re: It's a sickness .. I swear it is...

therapy is a good description JB.. and I believe Hoover had his share of it too. :)

lmao @ crabby .. but, they just got broke in this last summer  I think I'd have some serious issues if I started hangin' around a shoe store drinkin' coffee and talkin' trash.. something tells me I'd be the next test subject for some drug company.. hmm.. I really need to get that lab rat don't I!?

muskie, don't know about taken over your spot on the addictions list .. the sh!t list has been perty small lately :p :D .. pooters?? heck ..what-ever bites! I have a handful of the 600's and wanted to try these 650's out. I'll have put them to the test by spring time on the rivers here.. the Fox River up in Winnieconnie has given me fits with Sturgeon in the past so that'll be the test.

what's goin' on up at Steamboat Lake?? ..

lol @ euro .. yea if it was only blood sugar I'd have it licked!.. seems like it at times tho.. :)

yea, sure could use a few 50 degree days w/o wind .. would make being on the water a little more comfortable. I believe close to 750 or so.. I'd have to check to be exact.

spooled 'em up last night 2 w/power pro and 2 w/fireline.. we'll see what goes from here.

Careful there, Barlow, labelling something as a "sickness" could prompt some do-gooders (or wives) into setting up re-hab programs - "hi my name is Barlow and I'm a fisherman."

Looks like you dropped a bundle there - tell me you're not spending the mortgage on fishing equipment. You need some quality time on the water with a rod in your hand, and the sooner the better!

:D :D :D :D

Yeah, I know about that weather thing. For the Desert Bass Tournament saturday it didn't break fifty until sunrise, and it only got up to about 78 by mid afternoon. Downright frigid. I had to wear my wind breaker running up the river before sunrise.

50 degrees is short sleeves and sandles weather this time of year up here. The Bass would be layin' on the shore catchin' some rays and grillin' out while playin' marco-polo with the kids... .. :D :p

Barlow,

You could always head to Lake Columbia if you wanted to try out those rigs on some hybrid stripers, largmouth and smallmouth bass. This is getting to be the best time of year for that lake anyway!
