Anyone know of a piston available for a 1995 Mercury 2.5L 150 XRI serial OG25xxxx looking for a .060 over piston. Actually 6 but I’m having a hard time finding a .060 size.

They do not make a .060 oversize...040 and .044 are max. Why would you want to bore that big? If cylinders need .060 to clean up that block is junk. Even if you could go .060 you cannot adjust ECU fuel flow with a stock unit, you would have to use an aftermarket ECU and boring will not add noticeable HP. . On a stock ECU motor I will only bore .015 or .020 oversize.

did they all burn the cylinders that bad? if it's just one or 2 send the thing down to Chris Carson marine he will put a couple liners in if you only need a couple and bore it also! he has mine my 2.5 there now he is going to put 2 liners in and bore it to .20! and no like the man said.40 its max and that's too much!

Well there’s some pretty good scratches in #5. I know I need the pistons first before it can be bored. My thinking was if I order the rebuild kit and it needs more then .040 now I have to return the kit. I’d buy a used block but I can’t find anything decent for $600 plus shipping. I don’t want to have $1500 in just the block. I did find a used Yamaha 200 but it’s the HPDI. Woods rather run a fresh rebuilt Merc.

Take the block to the machinist They will tell you what size piston you need. You don't order pistons off of guess work. Whoever bores the block will tell you what you need.
