I have been trying to get this all back together. The copper water tube is in the way and after many frustrating:mad: attempts and wondering why the pump wasn't designed 180degrees from how I found this it occured to me that maybe it was on backwards. This boat has just sat for several years after buying it and i thought i'd go through everything once I finally had time. So i found this orientation of the water pump as shown in pic.
If i try and put it together without the tube in it will go in easily but the way it is that tube is in the way.
I can not find a diagram or pic on internet that tells me for sure its backwards and without taking it apart it appears it can go in 180degrees from where it is.

Yep, pump housing is 180? out... Turn it around. The outlet tube of the housing (on the top) should be aft of the dive-shaft...

Re: Is this water pump on 180 degrees off?

When i took it off the metal plate sitting below the pump cover was on 90degrees off and whoever put this together put cover on so the tab on cover would fit it slot of cover. Of course the plate can only fit 1 way correctly. I only got on track to discover what was the real problem after I stopped mindlessly trying to put it together and started to think.
Thanks for the help. It went right it after putting the pump cover on correctly:D:joyous:

I used to have that problem frequently......too close to what you are doing especially in uncharted territory....fixing something you never saw before.

So, beins I'm retired and have the time, I spend a lot of time thinking about what I have to do and getting a better idea of the overall subject. Has helped me a lot to "do it right the first time".
