The upper adapter plate of my 1996 force 40 cracked last week.
Two of the washer rusted out on the bolts that mount it and broke which caused play in the plate and cracked it.
The plates arent made anymore for this year of force.
I was wondering if JB weld would hold this together or am i stuck trying to find a plate. Where i am from it is extremely hard to find any old force motors or parts.
Any ones i can find are over 230$ 20240925_194101.jpg

I doubt it's fixable unless you can find someone who's really talented welding aluminum.
Google; OUTBOARD SALVAGE YARDS, There's a lot of old motor salvage places in the mid west.

the issue is the amount of oil and contaminates in the casting make it nearly impossible to weld.

the part has to be hot-tanked, baked, re-hot-tanked, then ground out.

then welded

Find a good welder as stated.-----Likely easier / cheaper to find that part used.
