Has anyone heard or done boat business with Prime Auto Center? Evidently they operate from NYC, Miami & a couple of West coast locations. I saw a boat on Craigslist and when I replied to ask questions ...the guy said the boat was 'on consignment' w Prime Auto Center.

Thanks for any feedback.

Look at the boat first hand.----Test run on the water.----Check paper work carefully.-----Do not send any money via electronic means.

Haven't a clue.

But....contact someone for an ad they placed and asked to contact someone else? That's enough flags for me to walk.

It may be legit. When I sold my old boat listing on CL, I was inundated with consignment places calling trying to angle for a cut of the sale by listing it and connecting me with a buyer...my neighbor sold his boat this way after unsuccessfully listing it for the better part of a year.

The M.O. is a popular SCAM where you wire the $$,$$$ and never see anything for it.

Got a link to share?. Have you checked any of the published information?

if it sounds fishy, it is fishy

if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Thanks Y'all. Here's the link.
I have read reviews on there website and checked their Corporate Registration at State of Texas Comptroller.
I'm very very concerned about buying boats basically site unseen.

I was just reading their FAQ for buyers. Nope, nope, and nope.

Too many hoops to jump through for me.

Just looking around the website . . . it seems scammish. Why are the names all typed with no spaces in the testimonial page?

Have you 'Googled' any of these people?

Boats are like real estate in that you shouldn’t buy one unless you stand on it or in it and actually view it first hand in person.

Thanks to all for the feedback. The boat they had was just what I was looking for ...at a 'great' price . But I had serious concerns.
I'm moving on....
Thanks Again!!
