MY, Its nice to get a little break from the<br />cold weather, and these last few days have been<br />pretty warm for this time of year.<br />Gonfishn I usually fillet the pike and portion<br />it up and freeze it for later on in the week.<br />The kids like it best when I cut it into smaller<br />bite size chunks and mix it with King fish batter<br />"Beer batter" and lemon pepper and cook it in<br />the deep fryer. <br />I make pike patties from time to time too.<br />Perfect portions of peppered pickled pike is<br />preferred.
<br /><br />You know it wont be long before the big pike<br />start defending their territory, and start to<br />scar up these midsized pike. Last year all the<br />pike we caught in the 15 to 25 pound range looked<br />like they had been through a war before ice out.<br />Mostly these pike are in excellent shape at this<br />time of year.
