Around here, you own waterfront property on navigable salt water to the mean high tide line. You have contol of the underwater property for 1000' out, but you cannot own it. This is to keep someone from buying a small piece of property and then going out a hundred feet or so and building a huge pier. The Corps of Engineers used to have an unwritten agenda that would eventually make it illegal for any individual to own waterfront property, but hopefully, they have abandoned it by now.

I have a dock and you are not entitled to tie to it with out my permission!!!

In Massachusetts you just can't tie to any avieable dock!!!

If you tie to a dock here you will be towed away at owners exspence just like a car parking in a private parking lot!!!

We live on the water. I believe in our survey we own the land under the water to the middle of the canal. I will have to check on it to be sure.

Someone parks at our dock they'd better bring plenty of beer and munchies.
