Is there a method to turn 18 ft boat upside down?

Hi guys just purchased a 1984 Crestliner Nordic 18 ft aluminum boat that has tons of flaking paint everywhere on the hull. It looks like the last owner took a rattle can to it without prepping. I'm going to gut the boat but need instruction on how to turn it upside down to sand, prep, and paint hull. The hull is heavy and I?m sure many of you guys have done this so how about some tips.

Labawg, are you going to do a complete restoration (gutting) or just want to paint he exterior? Take a look at the Starcraft Forum. You will find tons of resto projects that will show you how we flipped our boats, suspended them, levitated them, etc in order to paint.

I will be ripping out the entire interior of the boat too. The floor is soft, and the transom has a zillion unfilled screw holes and has been in the water for years that way. This is what happens when you buy a boat advertised in great shape and no leaks.

I lifted my 18' off the trailer and onto the grass with the help of 4 strong friends. We then flipped it and lifted it onto 3 cheap furniture dollies from Harbor Freight. The dollies make it really easy to move around once it's flipped.
