Knowing what exactly needs to be removed would save a lot of trial and error time.

The guide is usually called a service manual.

Or even better, a factory service manual.

Answering with "look in the manual" usually means "I have no experience"

Or even better , " I don't have a manual"

I have both manuals. If anyone wants those pages PM me.

909... why not simply scan a few critical pages and post them.... all with learn and should store them in their own files

Or it means that trying to type several paragraphs of instructions, will likely result in something missed, or misunderstood.

If you have 2 manuals, why are you asking how to do it ?

Anyone working on these motors and performing more than simple tasks, should have a manual. I've got a shelf full.

Posting scanned pages of copywrited info may not be allowed. Doing so in a PM is the way to go, as you suggested.

Thats the reason why you don't find manuals posted on the net, unless posted with permissions. Its intellectual property.

The best advice is to take photos before you start, and as you proceed to disassemble.

My take on the original question was does anyone know of any shorts cut to the task at hand. Even those of us that know a thing or two can still learn quick tips from others if the question is asked.

Being able to draw on others experiences is what makes this website amazing.
