Is President George W. Bush stupid?

This is simply an IQ question. It is not about what you think about policies, decisions etc. Simply IQ. In the interest of clarity, I want to point out three facts that I consider as relevant.<br /><br />1) He has a Bachelor's in History from Yale.<br />2) He is a Fighter Pilot<br />3) He has a Master's in Business from Harvard.<br /><br />Please include some reference to the above three points when posting comments. Thanks.

He's not stupid. But, it's a bit of a loaded poll question though, don'tcha think? As an example, who would you consider to actullay be stupid?

i voted no, but it doesn't mean i support him. he's obviously very book smart. his public speaking and ability to think and react on the fly is terrible.<br /><br />i read a great article in the washington post a few weeks ago, where they described the term 'useful idiot'. apparently it's used to describe a person that leads a group or administration while seemingly blind to any problems that group may have. doesn't reflect their actual intelligence. i guess the term was coined back in the 50's and has been used to describe many politicians and CEOs. the article simply questioned whether GWB fit this term.

I think people who mention Bush and stupid in the same sentence are referring to his politics more than anything. Then, some of those people will make fun of his intellegence and call him stupid because of their dislike for him. If you asked them to be honest and answer this poll, their honest answer would probably be no. I have to admit, he is a pretty easy target to make fun of. He's said a lot of mistakenly, stupid things...<br /><br />"Mission Accomplished". I thought that was pretty stupid.

I agree, although I support him. See how civil this can be . . .<br /><br />I think 90% (change % as you see fit) of the issues with Bush stem from body language. He often LOOKS and sounds stupid.

Respect is earned still right? I don't think it's disrespect that folks are intending when they invoke their 1st Amendment Rights. <br /><br />But, I think the word "stupid" is a pretty strong word....how about being "dumb" on some issues or perhaps appearing ignorant? Sure he's gone to school and earned degrees, that can make one book smart but not necessarily street smart or have common sense.<br /><br />I'm also not sure that it's just the distrust of the presidency that folks expressing lately so much as it is distrust of policicans in general.
