Is my trailer too short?

I just wondered if my trailer is too short? I just redid my bunks (left them long but might cut down a little shorter) and I was looking at the fact my trailer sticks off the back support of the metal about 12 inches.. not sure if this is an issue or not?

Thanks in advance
Rob

It would be best if you could move the winch stand forward, so the stern of the boat is even with the end of the trailer. If not, cut off the protruding bunks and watch the end of the trailer for any bending.

Being that the Bunks are unsupported after the Mount, really isn't much different than just hanging the Transom past the Bunks. On one of my Trailers I installed the Hardware EZ Loader used on a lot of their Trailers to support the Bunks. This Trailer had the Supports at the Transom as OEM, but this time I put them on the Front as well, but it shows the ones at the Backbunksupports.jpg

As long as your tongue weight is within spec. I wouldn't worry about it.

My boat bunks (4" x 6") and boat overhang the back of the trailer by ~20".

I’ve got winch stand as far forward as it will go. Tongue weight is ok but I’ll have to reweigh it after I complete restore. Eliminated a bunch of unnecessary weight
