Is my shift cable stretched?

Volvo DPSM.
I remember, 6 years ago, the adjustment at the drive was in the middle of the threads. Now, I have to screw the block at the end of the threads to have the same range of motion. I checked the cable sleeve holder, and it is ok, holding the sleeve in the recess.

Is there an internal adjustment behind the shift lever?

One thing is noticed though, is with engine off and engaged in drive, I can turn the propellers by hand a couple of turns before the clutch engages. When I bought the boat 6 years ago, it was engaging right away.
I had some water in the drive last summer. Can it be the cone clutch that took some wear?
I use VP lubricant in the outdrive.
Boat still runs fine at all RPMs, no delay engaging the gears.
