I put the boat in the water today and it crunk right up no problems. I just bought and brand new battery with 1000 cold cranking amps. I let it run for a minute because I just installed a new impeller and waited a few minutes to make sure it wouldn't overheat. Then I started to go out. About 1/4 mile the motor just shut off. When I turned the key it was turning over slow like the battery was dead. I had a few people try to jump me off but it still was turning over really slow. I tested the battery but it was good. when I try :mad:to start it now it just clicks. I took my starter off and had that tested but it came out good. When I try to turn the motor over with the ratchet it moves but barely like a half a turn going either way. Is my motor locked up? Is it a simple fix? I mean can anyone please help me?? I have a 1995 Glastron fish and ski 195 with a volvo penta 5.0

Pull the plugs out and try to crank it

Check your oil to make sure you don't have water in it. It could be hydrolock. I ran into a similar situation like yours. Everything checked out well but would not start. It appeared like the battery was drained when trying to startup. But in this case it was a new battery.

Ayuh,... If that don't work, pull the drive...

Then you'll know whether it's the motor, or the drive is the Problem...

Ok so I pulled my plugs out and it turned over. A lot of water shot out of cylinder 8 and then now it turns over. what should I do next? Should I put wd40 down there I mean I really don't want there to be more water in there.

Now would be a good time to post your engines full Model number or Serial number.
Do you boat in salt water? The fact that it still turns over is a good sign, did it turn over at normal speed or sound labored and slow?
Squirt oil in the cylinders, WD is too light.

The Motor turned over slow but then when the water shot out it turned over like normal as before. When I took the valve cover off it was all milky so Im thinking it's a head gasket. When I take the head off ill let everyone know what it looks like.

Okay so I took the head off and when I took out the lower bolts of the head, water poured out of the holes. I sprayed everything out with WD40 and I bought a new head gasket and intake manifold gasket. Is there anything else I should do before I put the head back on? Also I cleaned all of the old gasket off of the head and the block.

Water is suppose to come out of the lower bolt holes. Send the head out and get it checked for cracks and make sure its flat. Were you able to see on the head gasket where it was blown?

Yes I seen where the gasket failed and the rings stopped the trash from going down the block. It has no cracks and pressure test was good. It is also flat but I noticed that when all this happened to the motor my prop won't spin. I"m positive its in neutral but why wont it spin?
