Is it just me? Gas lines sucking air

I've bought 4 brand new johnson gas line connectors, and all 4 of them leak, spit, and suck air like crazy. On mt stick steer boat, i finally just "hardwired" the gas line straight from the tank/bulb/motor. It seems to run fine, without leaking. Now i just put a new hose on my pontoon and its leaking gas every where around the fitting. Am I doing something wrong? I've got two tanks on it so hooking it up straight, without connectors, is out. I won't be able to change tanks.

Any body else having issues with these connectors? How can I bypass the connector at the gas tank and still be able to switch tanks?

My buddies are getting tired of pumping the bulb the whole time.

What year is your johnson and are you buying the right connector there is a newer style and older style. Depends on what year motor you have.

This is all hooked up on the gas tank end. I bypassed the connector on my motors

???--------What kind of tank do you have ?---------An original steel tank ?----------Perhaps the issue is the tank fitting and not the hose.--------Post picture of the tank where you hook up the hose.-----------If it is the tank there are easy repairs to be made !

I'm at work but these are the new tanks I just put on the boat, I had the old medal tanks and took them off because I thought that was the problem. I've replaced the connectors on the tank side too.

Well this is what I figured out. Screw those gas connectors. Put a 3 way ball valve selector to both tanks. No more air leaks, no more gas leaks.
