introduction and question

I am new here and new to boating. A couple of years ago I bought a Starcraft 16 ft Super Sport from a scrap yard. The original motor was laying inside of it. So I gathered the paperwork to file for a lost title. Found the previous owner to sign the papers and it happened to be that she had all the titles and registration for a trailer! I paid $116 for the boat and $100 for the trailer. The engine runs and I have redone the floor and wiring.

But.. the boat did not have a prop. Everyone I have talked to around here doesnt really want to help me because I dont know what size and pitch I need. I dont need a fancy prop just an aluminum one will do. The engine is a 65 Johnson. The boat and engine are 1973 model. The boat will be used for fishing only. The boat may be lighter than original because it does not have any glass in it(it was all missing) and now has only 1 console. Sorry for the long winded post. Can anyone push me in the right direction and tell me what prop to start with?

Re: introduction and question

I guess you can head on over to the Prop forum and ask there..Better off with the manual and putting what the factory said to have..
