Trace the wires from the PTT motor back to its plug in connector, and unplug it.<br /><br />Using small jumper wires from the battery, connect one wire to one of the PTT motor wires, and the other jumper wire to the remaining PTT motor wire.<br /><br />If the PTT motor operates as it should, completing the up or down cycle without stopping, then obviously the PTT motor is okay. If it does stop as before, then just as obviously, the PTT motor is faulty.<br /><br />Reversing the jumper wires at the PTT motor makes the motor run in the opposite direction.<br /><br />If the PTT motor checks out okay, and the problem exists in both directions when using the PTT switch, check for a faulty ground, usually at the relay box area.<br /><br />I've encountered a ground problem with the ground wire that is connected to the attachment bolt that is in back of the relay box.
