Summary of my problem: The motor without fail always cranks up at the ramp perfectly without a choke or prime. Runs perfectly: no spitting, sputtering or smoking. I can run it for however long I need to and it will be fine. Even if I shut the motor down for for a second it will start back up fine. The problem comes with I shut the motor off for an extended period of time. It will not start back up- it is not getting any spark. However it always starts back up later that night or in the morning.

This has happened to me about 4-5 times. The motor has always been run for at least 15 minutes and good and hot. It has say anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours when this happens.

***This may be useful info - There was once instance where I only ran it for 15-20 minutes then shut it off. It wouldnt start when we tried about 30 minutes later but it did crank like two hours later and ran fine back to the dock....

What could be causing this to happen? I have a new OIS sensor, new stator, new keyswitch. The mechanic thinks it could be in the killswitch circuit. However it is weird that it happens in the exact same sequence every time and corrects itself. Could it be a fuel problems as far as my tank not venting properly?

Re: Intermittent Starting Problems

If you are not getting any spark that would have nothing to do with fuel problems. Your description points to "something" electrical that expands and contracts with heat. I have no clue on the "something".
