Hello. I am new to the forum. I am also new to boating ownership as well.
I have a 1976 14' aluminum starcraft boat with three bench seats. The majority of the time the boat is occupied by my two sons and me. One of my sons is 2 and the other is 7. I would like to improve the interior of the boat at the least amount of cost as possible.
My sons and I spent a lot of time in our fiberglass canoe last year but the boat has worked much better for the 2 year old so far. We spend most of our time on reservoirs or small lakes. We fish and plan on swimming off of it when it gets warmer, like we did with the canoe last season.
My priorities when updating the interior are to keep the boat light and to keep the entire interior slip-free and as cool as possible. I do not want to put in a wood floor. I think that leaves me with either gluing a carpet right to the aluminum or painting the aluminum. Could you please give me some suggestions as well as pics of boats that they have been done to so I can gain some confidence in my decision?
Thanks,
Kevin
