Interesting "Floor" covering

Yesterday I saw a Starcraft for sale on the side of the road..... darn right I stopped :D

It was a 1978 Open Bow yadda yadda yadda and there was a piece of paper attached to the windshield.....

New wood floor
new floor covering
.....

So I peaked inside..... the "floor" was a piece of linoleum (vinyl flooring) that would have looked fine in a family room...... a random dark brick and stone pattern ;)

I imagine it would work fine but the pattern was all wrong for a boat!

The floor makes it feel like your standing in the kitchen making breakfast.

That boat must weight a ton with that slate floor! Oh, wow, I would have never known..

Either way, it will protect way better than carpeting. Not to mention it looks like it was really well done, though I do feel odd saying that about a vinyl floor in a boat.

How crazy Bob..

Earlier today I was thinking of vinyl floor covering, how expensive it is..yada yada and the thought crossed my mind about linoleum....

Then I said, nahhhhhh..you'll slip Kev..

Gotta admit it looks good tho

I could see that on a pontoon. Now, the day I see pergo wood flooring on a boat, is the day.... Heeeey, WAIT. That's actually a very interesting idea. Pergo is dirt cheap to floor a 16' boat, easy to cut... wont shift much... They say it can stand up to anything...I just may try it. Thanks for the awesome idea! If I follow through with it, I will definitely post pics. I don't think it will match the upholstery too well, but still better than the ugly black foam laminate I have now, and if it looks like ****, I only lost out on about $75 and half a day 's work, and it will be easy to uninstall.

You guys are missing the best part

Cleaning up spills and after a day of boating is a breeze

A little Mop and Glo or a Swiffer and she's like brand new

Novel Idea :D

Well..... I guess if you are not abusive towards the linoleum (and your wife does not notice it missing from home:p) it would not be any more slippery than a smooth painted deck.

I wonder if it is good etiquette to store a broom in a rod locker?

After seeing this it fires up all sorts of bizarre ideas..... formica? self stick tiles?..........you can make it so comfy for the little lady that she could wash and mop the kitchen floor while fishing.

What about Granite or a marble floor?

Looks great, Scratch Resistant and would last forever!

hmm, would need to order extra flotation foam though :D

I laughed a little at first..

Then I started thinking to myself of what floor covering I could use...

Now I'm eyeballing the Speedliner spray in bed-liner brochure...

Uh oh. ;)

i actually spoke to someone who did the spray on thing. his big mistake, he used black. he said spraypainting it became a much needed thing.otherwise, he loved it.
