Installing the new trim/tilt motor on my 2006 yamaha fj90 and the shaft at the bottom of the new motor doesn't fit properly in the little plastic adaptor in the housing below the motor. Don't know if that makes sense, but I am seriously lacking any mechanical knowledge so don't know the proper terminology. The motor I bought is for my model engine, and fits perfectly except for the metal shaft not fitting in that plastic piece. Any thoughts?

Edit: I am an idiot. Just found out they make a short shaft and long shaft motor for this engine. I was sent the long shaft when in actuality....yes, you guessed it, I need the short shaft. I swear nothing is ever simple. Ha.

Did you buy OEM or an aftermarket?
