I'm reinstalling the driveshaft housing onto the bell housing. I will replace the seals with a seal kit but do I need to put a sealant between the two housings? If not, will water get into the bellows? Doesn't seem like the seal between the two housings would be water tight.
I also plan to grease the shaft before inserting it - what type of grease should I use?
Thanks, Gil

Wheel bearing grease
The O-rings are all that is needed to seal the housing. I use a small amount of bellows adhesive to hold the O-rings in place

The snout on the driveshaft housing seals against the aft side if the u joint bellows. The retainer ring in the snout fits inside the bellows keeper ring allowing the drive and bellows to seal

Other than that the o ring kit seals the water passage, gear oil passage and shift cable pocket/linkage passage between the bell housing and drive. As dodge says use a very light amount of bellows adhesive to hold the o rings in place upon install
