Installing 12 Fuse Block Blue Sea # 5026

Just replaced old 12 Fuse block with above model. Was careful to place wires into new block as They were in old one. But when I attached positive lead connection to battery all accessories lights came on console and were working but no control by Power switch on console .. looks like the new fuse block is “hot wired” . Power switch is new also. The boat is 1998 Skeeter and don’t have wiring diagram.
If black neutral wires are not properly grounded on block could that be the problem ?
Does anyone have a suggestion?

Yes, The aerators, bilge pump, and Nav. lights had gone out about same time. I had power up to old fuse block but no power on 3 fuse slots . Upon inspection the old fuse block had lots of corrosion. and again my Power switch on console is new .

Are you 100% positive the power switch on console is wired correctly and you didn't connect the hot 12v lead to the switched side? Are all accessories that are wired to the new fuse box on all of the time when you connect the battery cable?

Yes, all accessories are on all the time when I connected the battery cable. Power switch is wired correctly, Im not sure about the 12V lead to the switch ..side . My issue was identifying the hot 12v lead coming thru the side wall to fuse block.. I have 3 #10 red wires coming into fuse block and couldn't identify the 12v Hot lead .

Those three, aerators, bilge pump, and Nav. lights are always hot as long as the main power switch is on and not switched by console power switch.

The nav lights need to be on when anchored at night, bilge pump needs power in case you spring a leak, so they are safety items. Aerators keep your catch alive. The three are powered through a battery switch.

Yes, I ll try ...it s a Blue Sea #5026 12 circuit with ground.

The fact that three circuits when out at the same time is suspicious.

I had something similar situation a couple of years back. Turned out to be a bad bilge pump that had shorted to ground. Power was back feeding through ground to other circuits, bypassing the other switch's "hot" disconnects.

Are you sure you don't have a ground tied into hot buss?
Try pulling the hot wires off the other three circuits to see if you can isolate the problem to a component

Also, I do have one aerator that has not worked in awhile ...so it could be the ground problem that you referred to as well.
