Installed New Trim Motor, Engine Still Won't Move

I'm still in my power trim nightmare. I replaced the old motor to my power trim on my 2001 90 HP Mercury O/B with a brand new motor and reservoir. The unit is getting plenty of juice from a brand new battery. I put the new power trim fluid in with the engine totally trimmed up as the installation instructions request. For a little while the engine was trimming down, but would not trim up at all except for no more than an inch and extremely slow. There doesn't seem to be any fluid leaking out of the cylinder or anyplace else for that matter. And, when I unscrew the plug to add more fluid, you can hear air coming out of the reservoir until it is completely unscrewed.

Any insight would be great, especially since I can't get in touch with my mechanic!

Quint, it sounds like it still needs to be bled. Help it to tilt up and lock it up. Now fill the resevoir and cycle it down and then up. Lock it up and let it sit 10 min. Now refill and repeat. After several cycles, you should have all the air out of the resevoir.
