Inline Fuel Filter VP 5.0L EFI

I recently purchased a 1996 CC Concept 19 with the 5.0L Ford EFI. There is an inline plastic fuel filter just under the intake manifold. Is this supposed to be there? I can't find a part# for this but I did see it in an online picture of a similar engine (pic below)

It's considered a Filter, Map Sensor, Vacuum Line. Volvo Penta part number 3852224 item number 38, http://www.volvopentastore.com/Uppe...on_id.069448457--store_id.366--view_id.782708

Well, that would explain why I couldn't find it in a fuel system diagram :embarassed: Looks just like a fuel filter, even has the "flow" arrow.
I'm guessing it normally isn't a maintenance time them. Thanks for the education.
