Hi all,haven't been here for awhile. Can anyone tell me What the readings for testing a coil should be,It's been so long since I did it I've just about forgotten the whole procedure.

OK, vague question deserves vague answer. Let's assume he means ign coil. Primary should be almost a dead short. Just an .1 ohm or so.

Secondary should be much higher in resistance, but not open, say 275 ohms

Those specs were for my Johnson V6, but can vary with a crummy ohmmeter.

or.... 1-2 ohms primaries and 4-8 Kohms on secondary on an oldy coil
