Info on 70's Evinrude 35hp

Hi everyone.

I just viewed a 1973 35hp as per owner's claim. However upon inspecting the serial number on the transom mount it didn't seem to match the huge "35" on the cowl.

Serial numbers read as followed:

Mount: 208CR02C C7000654
Carb: 324021
Prop: 388088 9 1/4 x 11 - 14 splines (not through exhaust hub)

I googled prop s/n to relate to the engine without avail. All I've found was pin-driven prop or through exhaust hub for the matching s/n.

Could I have been duped or it's a Canadian edition?

208CR20 is the model number for a 1978 20 hp !

I did not even find a 1973 35hp listed althoughI found 35hp for later in the 1970s
